At what point can we talk about the fact that Alito's views on women's autonomy is such that he doesn't get to blame his wife?

At one of my grad school auditions I overheard the audition monitor tell a parent that he was from Long Island and was majoring in bassoon. The parent, coveting a morsel of small talk, asked “Oh, are there a lot of bassoonists from Long Island?”
I felt so bad for that Better Parent’s child.

i have not seen any mention of it but it sure seems like the authorities cracking down on student protesters are basically attempting to do what they wish they would have done in response to the george floyd protests

Changing my mind about Israel was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and then one of the easiest. And I guess I just want to say to any Jews who might resonate with this, who might also be exhausted by carrying the weight of justifying the unjustifiable, you can put that weight down. Join us.

losing my mind over the constant shifting from evaluating causes to evaluating people fighting for them. If someone proved every single ceasefire protestor was an anti-Semite that cheats on their exams, romantic partners, and taxes, what would we learn about whether or not to support IDF bombs?

The idea of strangers looking at me and knowing some of the most painful, humiliating things that terrible men have done to me, when all I want to do is have my music be heard, makes me want to retch, and I suspect that’s how a lot of women feel

A hallmark of the reactionary movement against it was also police unions and departments and their political allies making the propaganda push that they will stop doing their jobs if citizens aren’t nicer to them. The behavior of a protection racket, not a taxpayer funded service

I am once again begging people with power within the Democratic Party to devise a better strategy for dealing with the right-wing death grip on the courts than "win every election for 30 years and hopefully appoint their replacements."
In 30 years of this there won't be anything left to salvage.

When my partner and I saw an off-Broadway quasi-jukebox musical with the artist in the cast, I got a *call* afterward asking what I thought of the show, and I said “actually, my partner has been a fan of hers for years so you should contact them” and then my partner got a call about… subscriptions.
