I really have lost my former tolerance for "we're doomed/fucked/it's all over/they've won" takes at this point, in that they're the most dangerous attitudes one could possibly have when confronted with a truly existential political threat (which we still DO have levers to address).

4th of July around 25 years ago, I had to go to the ER because my face was swollen from a sunscreen allergic reaction. I still wear sunscreen because skin cancer is awful & I'm not a fan of wrinkles.

In the US you can call your local poison center at 800-222-1222 for all sorts of questions -- medication administration, side effects, extra doses. We're not just here for snake bites, mushrooms and mercury, we're trained nurses and pharmacists with broad expertise in toxicology and pharmacology!

I suspect I know who that writer was, and I've never heard anything nice about his estranged wife. But keep campaigning for literary rights wills. I nagged Jack for years to make his wishes known in advance, and while agreeing with me, always had an excuse as to why he couldn't do it at that time.

I think that in Noem's case we have to consider that the animal cruelty _is_ fascist symbolism. she put that story in her book on purpose to tell readers something about her and what she'd do with power, and it's not really subtle or difficult to parse out _what_ she's telling them.

Not at my HS, but they moved the bathroom doors at a friend's HS because (they claimed) students were undoing doors & sailing them out the windows & they got tired of replacing them. Some kids are just stupidly destructive. Still, don't punish the other 99%.

Don't get me wrong. I think anyone who works should get a living wage, but there are people who have times where either physically or mentally, shopping & cooking are beyond them. Food delivery is a lifesaver under those conditions. Saying "drink instant" is snide and Not Helpful.
