Which is why at home I use Ubuntu for most everything I need to do. And have windows sidebooted for when I need something that is only compatible with Windows, which with modern versions of Proton and Wine isn't a whole hell of a lot of things.

Two things are going happen when it comes to anti-virus: it removes this, bricking the computer or it gets tuck on a loop of trying to remove it and getting exceptions thrown to the point that the computer bricks. And you exempt it because the the anti-virus is too busy trying to remove it.

As much as this reinforces my desire to avoid Windows as much as possible, if you communicate with anyone on windows, on any app, it doesn't matter what OS you are using, MS gets a full recording of it on their end. They want to destroy privacy even for people who go out of their way to avoid them.
