She also turned out to be using a groyper Twitter alt to hassle people. She is now bankrupt and even cryptofash Compact Mag doesn’t want her.)

just watched 74 people speaking at least a dozen different languages become american citizens in a ceremony at monticello, where the speakers were themselves children of immigrants. inspiring stuff and a vivid illustration of what reactionaries want to snuff out

New pod: Andrew Weissmann makes a powerful, disturbing case that Trump's threats to pardon 1/6ers and prosecute his enemies mean that if he wins, our justice system could become unrecognizable.

"We certainly won't be the country we thought we had."

Race is still factored in. White applicants get to keep the advantages they've accrued through systemic racism without any countervailing forces.

Former American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault tells me fellow execs are arguing Trump isn't a genuine threat to democracy and don't worry about another 1/6, despite his public threats to the contrary. “In essence, they’re saying, ‘Look, we just don’t think that can happen again,’” Chenault says.

I reviewed Andrew Kahrl’s new book on the long arc of racist plunder through local tax codes for Democracy Journal.

As I say in the review, this is a monster book that deserves attention for its focus on an under-examined mechanism of structural racism.
