I can’t believe the Supreme Court just ruled that the president can sleep outdoors in a public space.

I never knew that Farmington, MN had an annual festival called “Dew Days”, named so because, in 1979, they drank more Mountain Dew per capita than any other city in the country.

"Efforts to get more people in Boston out of their cars and onto public transit have stalled as T service remains far less frequent than before the pandemic." We've tried making things worse, and we're all out of ideas!

Europe is very weird about AC. Anecdotally, have heard from multiple European acquaintances that they believe it's bad for your lungs

have never been one to understand people who try to extradite themselves from a debate by saying "we're just arguing semantics" - yes, that's exactly what we're doing! words matter! and establishing a basic agreement of terms is necessary for any debate

to be clear: an endorsement is NOT THE SAME as a state party pouring money into a primary challenger race. words are hard, i get it

which to be clear, the state party isn't allowed to be doing that by normal rules

that's a pretty big claim! hillary endorsing latimer - although out of touch and odious - isnt the same as the state party financially supporting a primary challenger

I think the ask for source here is regarding your claim that the state party itself is pouring money in for the competitor

Afaik the leadership team responsible for deciding to publish these games were forced out. Current leadership doesn't seem to want to follow through and/or are not interested in the projects they are publishing

going with this one... vegas wants this memory holed. and i think also the victims weren't from one place so it's hard to organize rememberence unlike shootings that take place in local communities

dragon age 2 was a console game and it was fun on the console. can't imagine playing it on PC though... bioware hasn't made anything good in ages and is a no longer the developer that made those classics, i'm surprised anyone cares about anything they do anymore?

i'm guilty of liking dragon age 2, but not to the same level as the original. never played 3 because of the PC issues (and requiring origin)

Twenty years ago, Weta Digital designed a computer system to randomise the height, posture, limb length, gait, etc. of digital orcs so that armies of thousands of them would have visual variety. Compared to that, "ten CGI supermodels" is deeply unimpressive.

My husband is reading a really interesting book about activist burn out, and basically every chapter that looks at specific historical activists shows that being unable to acknowledge even minor victories leads to burn out and depression.

i've found it hard to pick up ck3 again, because there's so much stuff it's kind of overwhelming to just chill with the game. but all the stuff it's pretty cool!

Fwiw - I think Ck3 has been pretty good and Stellaris generally continues to be great. HoI4 is insanely popular. I really enjoy Vic3, even with the issues. Eu4 is still insanely popular. They keep making money even when constantly screwing up

this isn't even counting their 3rd party releases (of which CS2 is one) that have crashed and burned: empire of sin, lamplighters league, stellaris: star trek... and there's more!

they have a captive audience and little competition for their niche games; everyone complains but they also line up to buy the next game. "they shuttered IR, botched CK3 release, lots of botched DLC, botched Vic3, botched Cities Skylines 2... but EU5 is going to be amazing!" *preorders deluxe ed*
