One thing I love is how every single person on Twitter thinks Harris could improve her polls by “actually campaigning” without realizing that Biden is in fact actually campaigning. The problem is you’re in a media bubble that ignores him in favor of a narrative, and it’ll probably ignore her too

there is a lot of “democrats are the only agents of american politics” underlying fantasies of contested conventions. meaning, no real consideration for how republicans will respond politically or legally for that matter.

The Democrats could have put a viable candidate out there to primary Biden, or said any of the things they're saying (or implying) now, a year ago. But they didn't. If we win this election, whoever the candidate ends up being, our first course of action needs to be re-making the Democratic party.

Seven times between 1801 and 1869 Congress changed the size of the court, going from a low of five justices in 1801 to a high of ten in 1863. In most of those cases, as in 1801 and 1863, the size went up and down in order to fix an imbalance or overreach by the Supreme Court. My latest

It would be awesome if he and his campaign would hammer on these points and specifically address the "real reform" of the Supreme Court that he mentions in this letter. There's inspiration to be had here, seems like they just want others to get it out there for them.

I saw a post earlier making the point that the French knew what they were voting for, where we don't. Since the Biden campaign can't seem to get it out, I thought I'd pass along some things from his letter to congress. He mentions codifying Roe, building 2 million new housing units, & SCOTUS reform.

What this article leaves out is that if you hand your unlocked phone to a police officer, they can legally search it. Unless companies develop a method that allows you to show officers insurance cards and driver license without unlocking the rest of your phone, don't.

If you steal $1000, you can be sent to prison. When health insurance companies steal $50,000,000,000, they get tax breaks, subsidies and government contracts, while the people they steal from die or go into debt. But keep blaming immigrants and poor people for rising crime.

There was lead in EVERY tampon they tested.
There was less lead in organic tampons, but those had higher concentrations of arsenic.
Also fun: It's 2024. This is the first ever study testing metals in tampons. Great. 🙃

I'll say more about this in my newsletter today but the "tempers flare" narrative on supposed acrimony between Trump and anti-abortion GOPers is not a secret fight that the press has exposed. It's a performance meant to reassure anti-abortion voters that Trump will do what they want.
