Discovered that just after I got into photography in 2007 I took pictures of one of the all time Zitron names - Perry. He was a hulk of a creature. He hit so hard, like a tiny punch, and he knew how to use his body to weigh you in and attack. Occasionally very sweet. A titan of the house.

As someone who's born and raised in the MENA and I know heat: do not go outside during the hottest part of the day, do not go for a walk, do not decide to do DIY, do not do manual labor, just do not! You can weed your damn garden at 7pm. Go back inside, turn on the ac/fan, hydrate, eat popsicles.

Actually, the "movie that uses AI to change every time you watch" sounds neat- it's a documentary about musician and producer Brian Eno that uses a bespoke algorithm (not ChatGPT!) to shuffle human-curated clips of interviews and archives to reflect the generative and iterative quality of Eno's work

Some advice after 25 years of work in Egypt/living in AL: 1) Liquid IV is best electrolyte/salt hydration drink (or Pedialyte) 2)If overheated, cool shower, then colder bath (slow temp decrease) 3) Freeze bottles of water. Put between legs (crotch)+ under armpits+ at neck. Will cool blood rapidly

With cats, they often lean into it if they’re interested/enjoying it & will start “wagging” their tails as a sign that they’re overstimulated — before moving on to clawing/nipping if you ignore the increasingly swishy tail. (As opposed to dogs, where wagging tail is usually a positive)

The idea that everything has to be a polished piece has single-handedly done the most mental health damage to artists in the age of social media. Not everything you draw needs to be posted. Not all of it needs to be good. Every drawing doesn't need an audience. It's okay to make art just for you.

Should you refuse to show compassion because you believe it would make you appear weak, then you have misunderstood what strength is. It is honorable to have concern for others, to show empathy and to offer aid to someone in distress. To rebuke this is cowardice, not strength.
