Very unfun fact: Project 2025 specifically names Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area and wants to remove its protected status and open it up to mining. This is the future Donald John Trump wants.

This is exactly correct. And it’s the fundamental flaw of all Trump coverage. Because Trump took over an existing Party, the press ascribes longstanding legitimacy and fitness to him instead of using his obvious unfitness and illegitimacy to newly reevaluate the Party.

Without even clicking the link, I’ll guess the reason — all the talk of racism makes white kids feel guilty. Again, if your kids are reading histories of slavery or segregation and identifying with the racists in the story, that suggests you’ve got your own problems to work through. Leave us out.

The many manifestations of racism — slavery, segregation, etc — were an integral part of not just African American history, but American history. Denying that reality and pretending racism wasn’t a serious problem is, in itself, racist.

I've seen this confusion a few times. I guess it comes from the fact that the Speaker is next in line to the presidency if there's no VP, that much is true. But the Speaker is still just the Speaker in the meantime, they don't become acting VP / President of the Senate. That's what the PPT is for.

oh hell yeah let's fucking go does this go anywhere? nope! is it still a good idea? yep! the GOP understands the concept of statement moves like this so much better than dems normally do and its not surprising that AOC is bringing this forward, as I think she's got very solid political instincts.

The inviolability of faculty authority to assign grades is in the process of turning into the Jury Nullification of academia; ie definitely real and indeed conceptually necessary for the entire enterprise but which the admin branch would really, really prefer you didn’t proactively lean on.

The "official" GOP platform runs 16 pages, but if we take out the title page, the dedication page, a three-page rambling "preamble" and the page with a table of contents printed in 72-point font, it's only *ten* pages long. Project 2025, the actual platform, is 900+ pages long. Focus on that.

Communications tip: don't say "Project 2025" say "Trump's Project 2025." He's trying to run away from it, tie it to his neck like an anchor by making the words "Project 2025" naturally follow the word "Trump" in people's heads.

Seven times between 1801 and 1869 Congress changed the size of the court, going from a low of five justices in 1801 to a high of ten in 1863. In most of those cases, as in 1801 and 1863, the size went up and down in order to fix an imbalance or overreach by the Supreme Court. My latest
