My wife applied for a job that had 2 phone interviews, 1 in person and then they wanted 2 FULL DAY working interviews and she told them that unless they were paid she was pulling her name. It's getting silly.

I've first interviewed for a job/PhD in February (after an application process that started in *October last year*) and I'm still waiting for them to get me a second round interview (because they had to restart the application process), so I get how much this sucks. Full solidarity, take care!

God, we just helped my partially disabled SIL through 6 mos of this - it was so fโing hard on her. You have my sympathies. ((HUGS)) On a good note, she found a great job at a place full of imperfect people who are also good at their jobs. Please hold out hope, and gather support wherever you can.

Holy fuck, 5 interview rounds? That feels downright irresponsible of them to put people through that - to take up that much of people's time and life - and not give them an offer at the end. The most we've ever done is 3 rounds, and that was for C-suite positions.

The same thing happened to my daughter, five positive interviews. Boom, not hired. Four months later they call her out of the blue, offer her a better job, and said she was the only candidate. She starts in October. Perhaps your story will have a similar ending. (fingers crossed)

Same thing happened to me a couple months back. 5 interviews, and an 8 hour take home assignment. I thought I had it in the bag because I felt like I was vibing with the interviewers. โWe really like you but we found someone who fit the profile better.โ That shit hurts.
