To put it very bluntly: If they are going to do those things, they were always going to do them. The possibility of the President being prosecuted after (and, based on prior precedent, ONLY after) leaving office was never going to be a sufficient restraint to stop that.

The SCOTUS decision was outrageous and an insult to both the Constitution and the reasons the nation was filed in the first place. But it does not make the President's acts un-illegal. It also does not grant other people immunity to carry them out, or restrict the courts from blocking them.

We're living in the era of the Imperial Supreme Court. One of the reasons I am so strongly in favor of radically expanding the judiciary - and will remain in favor of radical expansion even if both Alito and Thomas are replaced by liberals - is that it will dilute the impact of individual judges.

Again: The only effective way to stop this is to vote for Democrats up and down the ballot, every election, while simultaneously working to reform and reshape the party.

No this case is a slam dunk. It should not have been brought this way to begin with. Not charging Lindsey Graham is horrifying. NO one is above the law unless you live in Garland's America and the State of GA Prosecutor Fani Willis is handling something. She's a fool. ugh

Judge shopping is obviously problematic and should be addressed (unless you're filing national-impact cases in a random district & division with a single, ideologically committed judge, in which case it's totally fine, just as obviously)

No, you don't understand - the law would have let her have an abortion in those circumstances, this is the doctor's fault. Of course, if they'd done the abortion we wouldn't have the evidence that it was actually life threatening, and the doctors would have to litigate that at risk of jail time but

In fact, it's the opposite - fewer people in-office means lower utility bills. It saves money. And it also allows the government to have a realistic understanding of how much office space it actually *needs*, so it can lease the right amount, or lease out unused space it owns.

Seriously, look at this nonsense. Apparently, federal office leases have a weird provision where the cost per square foot goes down the more people are physically there? The Federal Government's real estate costs are SUNK, Mitt. They don't vary based on in-office time.
