It's really hard to wrap your brain around the idea that the US Supreme Court just unilaterally amended the Constitution to immunize the first president who tried to unlawfully retain office after losing the election.
That's what actually happened, not some alarmist fever dream.

She broke into Corey Lewandowski’s house, she tried to use a recording device in the Trump trial and the judge threatened to kick out all the reporters are the two instances that come to mind

I mean, I have felt for a long time that there’s been a vacuum in leadership. Even if the president isn’t as bad as this “report,” he just isn’t able to get the very simple message across of why Trump is bad. Did you see the Times article about his interviews this weekend?

Also the fact that the president thinks a few more bad performances could do him in reveals he is out of touch AND has lost the narrative. The damage is done. An absolute mess with frightening potential consequences

It would be possible with a 2nd Trump admin & president immune thanks to SCOTUS. It isn't hyperbole anymore.

Honestly still in shock that the most crooked American President in history said "I need immunity" and the GOP Supreme Court said "well, it's nowhere in the constitution, but sure, why not? Whats the worst that could happen?"

Was it a cold or his international travel? Or was it too much debate prep? The president’s explanations in light of reports from Group of 7 summit are looking increasingly pathetic. If multiple senators come out at the same time & ask Biden to step aside, it’s going to be hard for him to hold on

Hypothetical: To save the Republic and uphold the Constitution, can Biden order a drone strike on Trump and then be immune from prosecution? You see how stupid things get very quickly here.

A few years ago, Jon Lovett floated a theory that media treats Democrats like protagonists - to be challenged, accounted, and forced to be behave in growth-oriented ways - while the GOP are treated like antagonists - immutable, expected to disrupt, thematic obstacles.
Thinking about that a lot.
