Yeah I could believe a swing up to like 10 points, but not the 20+ that are being shown. But who knows, response bias could go the other way with some other demo. I think we just have to assume average systematic polling error of 5ish points and not assume the direction

The entrance to Palm Springs (Coachella valley) is incredibly hazy--all the particulates from LA and San Bernadino get blown over there. So the windmills are making the view better!

There's a lot of good suggestions in this thread but I want to chime in here and specifically endorse the efficacy of handwritten notes - they are laser targeted and almost always read (unlike texts, calls and printed mailers, the message of most of which don't reach the audience)

If I understand correctly, today the US Supreme Court has granted governments sweeping powers to immediately stop someone from sleeping outside but taken away governments' powers to immediately stop someone from dumping a bunch of toxic waste outside.

When it comes to evaluating tenure for scientists at most R1 universities, the difference between being a 5th percentile and 95th percentile teacher is counted about the same as the difference between being a 50th and 60th percentile researcher.
