The #1 predictor of happiness is social support, acc to Danish happiness researcher Meik Wiking.
Joe Biden has been in US govt since age 29 + is loved, beloved, and treasured by family, friends, + colleagues.
I wish we all could have the depth of expertise + tight support that he has.

Say what you will about the various Democratic party actors in the fight over whether Biden stays on the ticket, but I can understand all of their behavior much better than I can the journalists who are trying to write their way into the camps

Question:
If Dobald Thumb had had an unstellar debate showing WITH a cold, would ANYBODY be suggesting that he step aside?
Hell, no.
Joe Biden won his first Senate election at age 29 BEFORE he was eligible to serve at 30. Is that bold?
I have EVEN more respect + admiration for him now.

He takes transphobic hits for ideas of where trans women are allowed, esp in prisons + hospitals. He tries to sound compassionate but his TERF view comes out.

the “some folks just need killing” thing out of north carolina reminds me of a third thing these annoying people are right about: as long as the republican bloodlust grows and their power is unbroken, every election probably will be the most important one of your life

T is older in ways:
-biologically way older because of poor diet + movement
-emotionally older for lack of loving connection, positive thoughts, and optimism
-Alzheimer's in heritage, his father specifically
-no governing in LTM as Biden does
Joe Biden has been in US govt since age 29.

I also know what it looks like. That’s not what I see with Biden. I see an old slower man, who still can and is willing (for some reason) to work, even if he has his moments.

This podcast was recommended by someone whose post I've lost.
The question it answers: When did the USA lose it's grounding in the rule of law? --> When did one party - the Republicans - become untethered to strict adherence to rule of law?

You could argue FedSoc exists in part because of jurists like Stephens but they were more than fine just promoting justices until Casey. Once O'Connor and Souter didn't act on Roe, they took the process over. Never again would they not know exactly how a judge was going to rule. 1992.

This is what confounds the idea that Repubs are anti-"Liberal:"
IF Liberals are practicing law + defending the rights of all
AND
Repubs want to block Liberals,
THEN
Repubs eventually become anti- rights of all and anti- practice of law.
