when outlets write about this stuff they could easily talk to any of a million experts on consolidation and merger history who'd tell them these deals NEVER deliver the promised synergies, cause endless layoffs, and largely exist to boost stock and nab tax breaks but they're not interested

I looked over the actual report and yeah, this is very concerning. There is no safe exposure level to lead. The authors note it's not known how much gets absorbed into the body via tampon use because that research has never been done. It's maddening how research on women's health is lacking.

What this article leaves out is that if you hand your unlocked phone to a police officer, they can legally search it. Unless companies develop a method that allows you to show officers insurance cards and driver license without unlocking the rest of your phone, don't.

A scholar whose work I often cite posted a rant about Biden and said, “Dumb swing voters won’t vote for him.” I said, “There’s no such thing as swing voters,” and linked to a journal article suggesting as such. He simply blocked me.
