When I say the Supreme Court went beyond law, I don’t mean that I disagree with their interpretation of any legal text. I mean their immunity grant isn’t based in any. The Constitution does not address it either way. They invented new powers from nothing.

You missed the part on their website where they take no public funding (I call BS, but let's take them at their word). How much you wanna bet that this town doesn't want another shelter because it would cost them tax $$?

The fact that a second Trump administration is even a POSSIBILITY is such a tremendous failure on the part of every segment of our political elites. He could have been impeached, convicted, and permanently excluded on the very day. He could have been arrested the second he left office. Etc., etc.

A serious attempt by legislators or a candidate to invalidate a plainly valid election to install someone who plainly lost the election as president is not a "legal hack" or "finalizing results". It is treason. It is a treason against the United States and its citizens. We shouldn't dance around it.

Have you watched him in "Your Honor?" He's certainly typecast as the regular good guy who manifests his vile evilness when life goes sideways. Half way into episode 3 I said "I don't like anything about this" and turned it off. That's one episode longer than I survived with Succession

Median CEO pay at major corporations jumped 13% last year. Much of the increase was due to stock performance. Just so happens that in 2023 corporations spent ~$800 BILLION on stock buybacks, which artificially pump up share prices. Translation: CEOs are goosing their own pay.

I don't justify or excuse it, but I understand it because I lived it. It takes an incredible amount of empathy and effort to open one's mind that the world as they have always been taught is not just incorrect but maliciously harmful. Most aren't forced to confront that reality.

That's nice if you don't have a dishwasher. I'm talking about a full-ass dishwasher that's where you store all your dishes and cookware. I do this when my wife is out of town. Everything I use for the day goes in the dishwasher and I run it after dinner. Next morning, start using stuff again.

A central Trump argument for why the 2020 election was "rigged" was that people voted (during a pandemic) in non-traditional ways. Now, its all ok. All those approaches are good options if they enable Trump to win.

I love @repraskin’s piece. The point - as I’ve been saying for some time - is that recusal is not abt letters & mtgs w/members of Congress. It is a tool available to PARTIES in litigation & is part of a litigant’s due process rights. In the immunity case the party is the UNITED STATES (you & me).
