Sure, it is a lot more comforting to think that Trump's popularity is somehow due to the press, instead of facing the fact that lots of Americans love Trump. Just like it is a lot more comforting to think that "Bush did 9/11" is more comforting than 19 randos brought down four planes.

A dual U.S.-Saudi citizen is facing a long prison sentence and an even longer travel ban for "extremist ideology" over his cartoon comedy on Netflix and old social media posts. It's not the first time, and likely not the last, that Saudi Arabia has targeted U.S. citizens for their speech.

I never look at the blood work results on my patient portal. If I see a single abnormal reading, I'll start thinking "Omg. I'm gonna die next month!" I'll let the doctor explain that a high X value is only an issue when Y and Z are high, or something similar.

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration at all to say the decision threatens the Republic. I might not have said so in 2015, before I saw how triumphantly lawless and autocratic the President could be, and how so many people would applaud it or at least shrug.

It's hard not to feel irate while reading this. Companies catering to authoritarians like to defend themselves by shrugging and say "it's local law." But this isn't just about the law. Microsoft is going above and beyond even its competitors *within China* in censoring material online. Shameful.
