How is it criminal trespass for a student to sit in the grass on their campus with other students? They were denied the right to hold a protest because it would, supposedly, disrupt university activities. Except it was the heavy police presence that did that, not a few hundred students.

This is going to be a solid first amendment case if anyone arrested gets a decent lawyer. There was no riot or disorderly. Unless they were blocking a roadway or shouting something like “kill all the Jews” (because it’s not ok when anyone says that…) they have every right to protest on UT grounds.
