I support this move. It is unlikely to succeed, but making the need for it to succeed a political issue to motivate voting is important.

It’s like Biden’s continual efforts to fix economic sentiment by improving real indicators. If the problem is that people’s screens are distorting the real world, you can’t fix the problem by fixing the real world.

It really is grotesque that we have to tolerate, and accept as fellow citizens, these despicable subnormal freaks who delight in evil and threaten everything that makes America great with their sick fantasies. On the other hand honestly the furries can be kind of irritating too.

I miss when animated movie characters had fun, memorable voices instead of sounding like regular people because Hollywood used to hire voice actors who could actually voice act.

There is so much vagueposting right now. "I don't want to say which because I'm not sure where everyone stands, but one faction sure does need to stop being such insane babies and see the light of reason, which again, I do not wish to take an overt position on at this time."

my hottest take is that casting directors need to approach their jobs like character designers for comics and animation do: recognizable and distinct via silhouette, body type, the back of their head, the bone structure of their face, and maybe even a bonus weird detail like a mole or a scar

The Jewish approach to conversion is the correct one: tell potential converts "oy, are you crazy? Being Chosen People sucks and is hard & everyone hates us & there are all these rules & there aren't any rewards for following these rules that you don't already get as a goy by being a decent person."

If they wanted φάγε to be pronounced "Fa-yeh" why did they spell it "Fage" in English. Also, "Fayeh" means nothing in English, but "phage" means "that which devours" which is actually closer to the meaning of the actual Greek name ("Eat!”). You had options, guys. You blew it.

TIL that Japan was obsessed w raccoons (a non-native species) bc of a cartoon about a boy in Wisconsin who raises one as a pet until he realizes they are bad pets and releases his friend into the wild. So, having learned ZERO LESSONS from this, Japan imported a shitton of raccoons as pets.

something that has been really striking about this election is the degree to which Republicans have just assumed that they're going to win despite running a candidate that lost the last election, with a huge fundraising disadvantage and a GOT apparatus that seems uh not very professional

Trust Eric Adams to take an announcement of "we are gonna start doing an extremely obvious thing that nearly every other city in the world does, replacing our previous policy of building massive rat buffets on every streetcorner" and make it extremely weird. Nonetheless this is good news.
