Yes: Look for CPC mouthwash and use a neti pot or neilmed bottle. Even if you don’t care about yourself, preventing yourself from becoming a vector means you won’t kill and disable others, particularly children who don’t have the wherewithal to “choose” to avoid repeated infection.

The Bushwick Book Club is a group that reads books and then commissions local artists and musicians to produce an evening of live music inspired by the story. The Seattle branch just announced that next season they'll be devoting a show to Banned Book Club! I CANNOT WAIT! I kinda wanna fly there?!

Because one involves a human's intent and a set of editorial decisions and AI doesn't? Hallucinations are autonomic, bad reporting isn't. Though I'd argue it would be better to call AI hallucinations "lies", it's more accurate.

Mayor Eric Adams has abandoned the project of school integration. So it's no surprise that according to one closely watched metric—admission to the City's specialized high schools—we're still totally failing to move the needle.

Beginning/very new writers worry about a lot of things. How do I start? What if all my ideas are stupid? What can I do to make my work salable? Should I dig a hole in the woods and bury my computer and then dive to the bottom of the sea & be eaten by starfish? These are all valid questions. But!

I do still think that the thing about AI is the same as the thing about crypto: we can just not use it. It’s not inevitable, it’s not very useful, it won’t replace the economy. Dumb management decisions in the short term aside, I think if we ignore it, it will eventually go away.

I find it weird when people want to sponsor your newsletter with products that aim to summarize newsletters. You’re literally asking me to promote a product that, if it works, damages my read rates and makes ads less effective. You haven’t thought this through.

LeVar Burton is a good human being, but Geordi La Forge was a complete and utter creepazoid and Starfleet HR should have fired him long ago. The scripts they gave both La Forge and Beverly Crusher indicated to me that some of the TNG writers had *real* problems with women and people of color.
