What this article leaves out is that if you hand your unlocked phone to a police officer, they can legally search it. Unless companies develop a method that allows you to show officers insurance cards and driver license without unlocking the rest of your phone, don't.

A new NASA map shows temperatures of up to 160 degrees on Phoenix streets and sidewalks. All that unrelenting concrete and asphalt for cars. Not nearly enough trees. They start with ridiculous heat that’s only getting worse, and then make it much worse with bad design.

FWIW, this reminds me a lot of when de Blasio and Bratton discussed getting rid of the Times Square plazas because of what they perceived as general chaos. Returning the area to cars, they believed, would restore order. It's a cop's view of the world where order is more important than safety.
