Leaded gasoline didn't sound like a good idea to the general public when it was invented. Its inventor had to do dumb stunts in front of crowds to get people to accept it. Turns out, he was wrong. He was also wrong about CFCs. Though at the time, they did generally seem better than ammonia.

yeah I've heard that Fecal Transplants can change a person's life. gut microbiomes really affect a LOT about us. the only thing is trying to get it to work without issue. placing part of a healthy person's microbiome into an unhealthy person's might not work for that person or worsen their problems

As someone who loved in an apartment with a combo washer dryer for a year, I can safely say that they sound like a good idea but are actually terrible. A load of clothes took 4 hours and would still be wet. We bought drying racks and just hung clothes to dry.

Sliced bread is actually the worst idea. Pre-slicing bread exposes far more surface area, causing the bread to go bad faster. This "innovation" is one of the reasons American bread is so bad. Manufacturers have to pump the bread full of bleaches and preservatives to compensate!
