stories like this give the lie to the idea that the right is interested in protecting these children. per their own narrative, this girl is a victim of “gender ideology” or whatever. but the reaction from the right is always hostility, ostracization and violence.

A brief RIP to the good era of The Daily Beast, the best newsroom I've ever worked in. We beat everybody and made the big papers very mad about it. We also did it with a lot of empathy and care and without the soullessness of a Murdochian tabloid. I guess that's over. Anyway, it was a good website.

Also: - show up for appointments on time - follow at-home directions - be gracious if they are having a bad day - write good online reviews - Vet pros have told me that they appreciate sweets but it can get to be a bit much, so maybe try coffee gift cards or fruit arrangements sometimes instead!

the 5-4 pre-2016 court equilibrium was actually quite bad! it made many terrible decisions (Bush v Gore, anyone?) 2016 was the one chance Dems had to flip it 5-4 the other way, and it could have been transformative as much as Hillary otherwise sucked but nobody cared enough and now we're fucked

physical media is inevitably going to become e-waste. don't buy CDs or DVDs of the media you love. it's a terrible waste of money when 10TB+ hard drives are so cheap, and they may take longer, but they will degrade, and inevitably suffer the same fate as legal digital copies. torrent it instead.
