NYT is reporting on this as news, but they clearly don't think Trump's "dark view of tit-for-tat partisan prosecutions" is a bad thing. They've been major cheerleaders of his approach for the past eight years.

I haven't talked about Linda except in occasional flashes of rage. She sat on the other end of the phone with me during so many long nights. I did the same for her later, because combat ptsd and her ptsd were basically the same animal. I am having a hard time with her dying. Please help my friend.

Empathy is human nature. T&S work gives you a unique window into just how frequently *and effectively* that empathy and earnestness is exploited by the worst people and how firmly you have to stop the tactics that those people use even if they're occasionally also used by other people too.

I’ve done some reporting on colleges and universities, and been lambasted for relying on students, alumni, and (often necessarily anonymous) faculty and former faculty. It’s absurd how the standard is just to talk to top administrators, as if they’ll tell you the hard truth about ANYTHING
