My wife and I each got camera tickets in school zones (28 in a 20, 30 in a 20) after recent stepped up enforcement. We didn’t know we were speeding. The roads are 25 outside school hours so it felt a bit restrictive but now we watch our speed carefully in those areas. Seems reasonable to me.

We're at the point where the tech that can track a vehicle's speed and document it, can also control that speed. Why doesn't it? Because the speed is unrealistic and the revenue is good? Because the MAGAs would freak out? Is it ever what it appears to be?

The thing about speeding is that in cities it accomplishes almost nothing. You have to go all out to shave marginal amounts of travel time because you’re basically getting to red lights and congestion more rapidly. It’s basically a pointless indulgence that costs everyone else a lot.
