Regretting canceling my subscription to the New York Times on a morning when they’re bringing me an oped from Bill
Maher AND an interview with Steve Bannon.
What a tantalizing feast for the mind, sadly beyond my reach now
That's what public libraries with online resources are for -- depends where you live, but for most US libraries, the NYT is likely to either be a stand-alone database link or part of a major news source database (yes, not everything is in those, but a lot is).
Note that many libraries offer their patrons online passes to the NY Times, good for renewable 72-hour periods, and these passes come with the ability to share gift links. Unclear if libraries pay sliding scale based on how many passes are granted in a given month, but this is likely the case?
would you instead like a gift link to yesterday's WaPo article in which Steve Bannon expresses his fears that the Democrats will force Biden out (oh no!) which would be very very bad for Trump (really, 100%, the Democrat With No Name is who the Republicans fear most)?
I regretted taking this collage off the wall of the Saturday and Sunday editions (so I could compare-and-contrast the treatment of Trump v Biden from the publisher's perspective) on the morning when the Supreme Court declared George III had it right:
An OPED from Maher? Who gives af what he thinks? He’s a twat as far as I’m concerned. And they waste space on interviewing bannon???
You’re right. This newspaper has gone down the toilet.
Skipped the Maher, but Brooksie interviewing Bannon was quite something. You missed Bannon calling Trump a soft-hearted, people-pleasing, peacemaker. And Brooksie waying he "almost became a Marxist" after 2008.
Oh me too, me too! (Yes I also just cancelled a subscription that was a decade old)
What a shame I can’t see an article about a Bannon interview. Because let’s give this kind of criminal an interview in the effing NYT.
Clicked in this morning and the entire front page is "we want Trump" as they continue to write about Biden being "Weekend at Bernie's". They don't even try to hide it.
Role reversal. The days of threatening us to vote for my guy (Biden) or the Red Hat nut job will win is over. I don’t care anymore. Make a switch, I (many voters like me now hold the power). Don’t do it, dems lose. Do it and I’m back voting anyone but Trump.
I continued to be baffled as to why the NYT'rs think they will be immune from the vengeance of Trump2? Free media never survives authoritarianism and they all get killed in dictatorships. Fin/TechBros think they're getting a typical repub admin in Trump2, but Bannon & Flynn have other ideas.
Bonhoeffer's "Letters and Papers from Prison" had no color photographs and was originally published in German, so I'm thrilled that the NYT has translated what was a generally dreary tome.
