If the Supreme Court decides in favor of Trump’s claim that a sitting president has immunity from prosecution, the logical and legal thing for Biden to do would be to simply assassinate him before the election
You are thinking way, way too small. There should be six drones hovering over the Supreme Court every day from now until the decision is issued, just waiting to strike
Very much looking forward to the argument being made to SCOTUS that their decision could mean that the president has the legal right to have them all assassinated.
With all due respect that just makes the Orange Turd into a martyr for the MAGAts. They will just pick another scumbag like Meatball Ron instead. Biden should cancel all student debt, give Dreamers citizenship and make it a crime to prevent POC from voting, AKA the MAGAt's worst nightmare scenario.
The fact that they’re even willing to entertain this farce is proof of their corruption. Trump’s argument should have been laughed out of the court immediately. Delaying the trial, much less ruling in Trump’s favor, is another disgusting betrayal of their oath to the people.
I....I mean. Yeah. If they do that then yeah. There would be literally nothing stopping biden or any other sitting president from doing all the crimes, other than thoughts and prayers, and we all know how well that works out.
I know this is comedy, but it’s the delay that ensures he survives politically. The ruling will deny immunity but the delay has the effect of immunity.
Seems like a *terrible* idea for the supreme court to empower the presidency with the legal authority to violently create new supreme court vacancies, but then I am not a federalist society vegetable.
So what do I know?
It doesn’t seem to matter now since Scotus won’t even hear arguments until late April, won’t rule on it until June, and then any actual cases against him will push straight into the election.
Trump has won
Also 20-30 Republicans in the House and 10-20 Republicans in the Senate. Also about a dozen governors. I mean, why not? If it's legal may as well. A couple of Supreme Court justices and half the 5th circuit. Let's go whole hog.
What a ridiculous argument Trump is making.
He could wait until after the election, and just do it if he loses.
Or he could force him to withdraw under threat of assassination/imprisonment.
Lots of options, if he wasn’t a spineless Democrat.
Why not SCOTUS? I mean, if they make anything a sitting Pres does legal, they are no safer than anyone else, right? I wonder if they'll think this thru.
Biden should pardon Trump only on the condition that he can never hold office again. Making him choose between jail and being President would break his brain
I've said this many times before T, and anyone else he feels the need to take care of.
It goes against all my ethics, but we didn't make the rules, now did we. And our nation is more important than a traitorous, wannabe dictator. So Joe will do what's necessary, I'm sure.
they’re not gonna ultimately decide in Trump’s favor here, but they’re going to rule for him on the merits on ballot access and try to string the immunity stuff out long enough for him to win the election and pardon himself, mooting the issue
Also, they wont even weigh in on that. They will avoid it to prevent a ruling. because clearly, a sitting president does have immunity, but not for domestic or criminal affairs. But they don’t want to “spell it out” in fear it will be used in future to impeachment for political gains.
Clearly. 100%. And we get to parade the terrorist and his mob through the streets throwing rocks and decapitating them to send their severed heads throughout the lands as to warn further Nazis what will occur!
Wouldn’t even have to do it himself—he could hire someoe, avoid prosecution for CONSPIRACY to murder, then pardon the actual assassin whenever he felt like it.
