Every time Trump complains about the timing of his court cases I'm reminded that most of them could have already been tried last year if his legal teams hadn't deliberately dragged out proceedings with delaying tactics. The only one choosing to hold them during election season is Trump.

After hearing a liberal Supreme Court Justice argue that the 14th Amendment's "any office, civil or military, under the United States" doesn't encompass the Presidency (despite Article 2 and the literal authors of the Amendment saying otherwise), this argument seems almost respectable.
