A couple of years ago my wife and I decided to get a 2nd dog. The dog by itself was great but when we brought her home it became "food aggressive" and attacked our other dog. I unfortunately had to return it to the shelter (a heartbreaking moment of my life).

I’m struck how much the description focuses on two things: the dog is disobedient and the dog is too happy.

To be fair, she spent the better part of a day trying to train her animal to be a reliable hunting dog. What was she supposed to do? Spend 2, or even 3 days? She's a very busy, no-nonsense, pioneer woman who loves to kill things, and has no time for such niceties.

One of my uncle's dogs is a "useless hunting dog" he learned his neighbor just turned out into the woods one day. People are disgusting. And what's worse is she could have just given the dog to a shelter and Cricket could have ended up with a cool old guy like my uncle.

That is a strange story - having to put an out of control working dog down is something a decent number of people are going to be able to relate to but using it to boost your own creds is bizarre.
