Also, just fascinating how subjective four out of the six categories are. Does "struggle with eye contact" actually mean "looked me in the eye in a way that didn't feel submissive enough"? Just what is "inappropriate" dress, or "unreasonable" compensation?

I bet it's an exaggeration of some sort. I don't think it would be wild to hear that a parent dropped their child off at a job interview and sat in the waiting room instead of the car because the temperature was unfavorable. I once brought my husband to a job interview for the same reason.

So the phrasing of the title makes it appear that they asked recruiters how many of them have seen at least one person do these things and then displayed it as if most people are doing these things.

Hate to tell ya, but one of my recent hires (quit just last week) had his mom ask for an interview. :/ Staff hated his ass cause we constantly told him what to do, but he refused to do it, since we were women.

At a previous retail job, we frequently had teenagers and young adults getting their parents to drop off their resumes for them without even coming in with them 🥲 But I think only one person in like three years actually brought their parent to the interview. A few brought a friend or a partner.

The real concern here is the source. Intelligent dot com cranks out dozens of “surveys,” and publishes misleading reports on their results. Ex: they reported that 22% of employers said they were reluctant to hire students who’d participated in pro-Palestinian protests…
